Madeline Kostek holds a BFA in painting from the University of Connecticut and is a member of the Florida Watercolor Society, Connecticut Watercolor Society, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts and Connecticut Women Artists. She has participated in many juried art exhibits throughout Connecticut and Florida.

Madeline’s images are worked in acrylics or oils on canvas or paper. The paintings move the eye across the surface of the painting to create rhythms among the color changes of the work. The challenge, then, is to juxtapose color, shape and line with lively brushwork to convey the impression of a scene and its light effects. Each painting seeks to unify sensations experienced when viewing a particular place at a particular moment and represents an emotional response to its atmosphere and the quality of light.

Madeline’s work is in many private collections as well as The Connecticut Collection of the University of Connecticut Medical Center and the Brevard Museum of Art Permanent Collection.
